Welcome to the web site of our cattery Tonkerland. This beautiful breed is still quite unknown here in Italy, and I will try to share with you our love, passion, interest and amusement since I saw the first Tonkinese in the US in 1991.
Our two cats, brother and sister, come from an extremely good breeder located in France, near Aix en Provence: Veronique Mezot of Chantana/Tonkavenue. When I saw her web site I wrote her, she was so kind as to invite me to meet at a cat show in San Remo and when I saw the cats she had, the love and the way she behaved I understood that I found a very good person, not only a good breeder.
In June I went to France and brought home two little Tonkineses: Canelle, a beautiful Blue Mink girl, and her brother ClairedeLune, a seducing Chocolate Point. My husband, at first quite against having animals at home, is now completely under their charme: they sleep beside his head, between his legs, nipple his hair as if it was catnip! Our two children, Andrea and Simone, aged 7 and 3, are their best friends and keep inventing new tricks and games to amuse them. They sometimes fight for being the best friend, but they usually end up with a good night kiss to both the kittens.
I am still learning a lot, every day is a discovery, like with my two kids, and with the help of my French breeder, of my Dutch, French, Swiss and Italian friends, who already have years of breeding experience with Tonkinese and with other breeds, I hope to be able to add a new beautiful page to the history of one of the most magical breeds I ever met: Tonkinese.
A very special thanks to the organization of FIAF, to Mrs Giussani and Mrs Zuccotti that I just joined, and my new Dutch friend, Lieneke Vrielink, everyone helping a new breeder to be a good breeder and maybe get something of their magic touch.
Here is a beautiful and interesting web site about Tonkinese in Texas
And this is one of the best Tonkines breeding Clubs in Uk:
Tonkinese Breed Club Uk, chairman Mrs Linda Vousden, extremely helpful for any info and owner of the Mymstic Cattery.
Mrs. Vousden and her husband Richard have been so kind as to help me join their great club of Tonkinese breeders and lovers: thank you very much!!
